Nagarkot Day Trip is a trip to a hilltop located 30 km away from Kathmandu to see snowy mountains. Mount Annapurna, Mount Manaslu, Mount Langtang and Everest ranges are the mountains that can be seen from Nagarkot. One of the best places to see sunrise and sunset in the hills, Nagarkot also offers scintillating views of Kathmandu valley.
Our Nagarkot day trip starts with a short drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. On the way to Nagarkot, Bhaktapur Durbar Square can be explored before or after the trip. Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Nagarkot can be a combined trip located in the same district.

Nagarkot Day Trip Schedule and Option(s)
Option 1:
- Early morning drive to Nagarkot to collect the best sunrise views.
- Then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and explore.
- Later go back to Kathmandu.
Option 2:
- In the afternoon, drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and explore the big and best Durbar square of Kathmandu valley.
- Then drive to Nagarkot to collect sunset and mountain views.
- Later drive back to Kathmandu hotel.
Option 3: Nagarkot Day Trip with Bhaktapur:
- Patan Durbar Square and explore the wonderful palace square.
- Then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and further to Nagarkot for the night.
- Collect the incredible sunset views and stay overnight.
- The next day morning, collect the sunrise and drive back to Kathmandu via Changu Narayan Temple (the oldest temple in Nepal).
Option 4
- Kathmandu sightseeing to explore four UNESCO world heritage sites.
- Then drive to Nagarkot to collect the best sunset in the mountains and stay overnight.
- The next day morning, enjoy the sunset and drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square after breakfast.
- Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square and drive back to Kathmandu.
Nagarkot day trips can be made around the year. Still, the monsoon months (June to August) are not good.
