Mardi Himal Trek is a newly promoted trekking route in Annapurna. The trek to Mardi is regarded as the best alternative to the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek or Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The trip is also famous as the Mardi Himal base camp trek, a less crowded trekking route in Nepal. The Mardi route is an easy trekking trail. The trip to Mardi starts from Pokhara and ends back in Pokhara again. The maximum elevation of Mardi Himal is 4500 above sea level at Mardi Upper View Point.
Our four-night five days Mardi trekking is a carefully designed itinerary to enjoy the trek most. The Mardi viewpoint offers stunning views of Annapurna, Machhapuchre and Hiunchuli. Exploring the vibrant local villages and the diverse landscapes are other significant attractions of the trek.
Mardi Himal Best Season and Permits
The best season to trek Mardi Himal is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Mardi Himal trekking can also be done in the winter months (December to February). Trekking Mardi in December is even better as the views get more superb. However, travelling in the monsoon (June to August) is not recommendable. The trekking in Mardi requires two permits. The first permit for the Mardi trip is ACAP, and the other permit is a TIMS card. Both of the permits for the trip can be issued either in Kathmandu or in Pokhara at the Nepal Tourism Board office.
