Gosaikunda Lake Trek 5 days’ trek is trip to the holy lake of Gosaikunda. Situated at the elevation of 4380 meters above the sea level, this is one of the pilgrimages of Hindus. The legend says that Lord Shiva has swallowed the poison produced during “Samundra Mathan” and was in pain, come here to search of the water. He then used his trident to get the water and lessen his pain with the water of this pond. From then it is believed that Lord Shiva is still sleeping inside the lake and some even says that the image of Lord Shiva can be seen inside the lake.
