Everest Base Camp Trek and flying back by helicopter is an Everest base camp luxury trek. The 8 days trip is also the shortest trek to Everest Base Camp. The fantastic trip starts with a scenic flight to Lukla. Then trek to Namche Bazar via Phakding. Tengobche is the place with the biggest monastery in the Everest region and one of the best viewpoints on Everest. Then hike to Dingboche and spend an extra day with a trip to Nagarjuna Hills. Furthermore, trek to Gorakshep via Lobuche and finally to Everest Base Camp. You will take the scenic flight back to Kathmandu from Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp Trek and Fly out by Helicopter. Tour Best Season and Permits

  • The best season for EBC trek and helicopter flying is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). This trip is also suitable for the months of winter (December to February) too. And interesting trekking to Everest Base camp in December is fine as well. Although, this trip is not recommended in the monsoon (June to August). And especially, mid-June to August is not appropriate.
  • The permits needed for Everest base camp trekking are Sagarmatha National Park Entry Fees and Pasang Lhamu municipality entrance charges. The permits for this trip can be issued on the way to the base camp. And the total cost for the permits is US$ 33 and US$ 20 per person, respectively.

Everest Base Camp Trek and Fly back by Helicopter Short Itinerary

  • Day 01: Fly to Lukla (30 minutes) and Phakding (4/5 hours trekking).
  • Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m./6/7 hours trekking).
  • Day 03: Hike to Syanboche (2 hours) for the Everest view, then back to Namche Bazar.
  • Day 04: Trek to Tengboche (5/6 hours trekking).
  • Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (5/6 hours trekking).
  • Day 06: Hike to Nagarjun Hills (2 hours hike), then back to Dingboche.
  • Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4/5 hours’ trek).
  • Day 08: Trek to Gorakshep (4 hours trek), then to Everest Base Camp (2 hours trek), then back to Gorakshep (2 hours trek) and fly back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Lukla airport
• One of the interesting airports in the world. The flight to Lukla is a wonderful one. Meet your guide/porter and start the trip.

Phakding
• The small village at the lap of the Himalayas. You will stay at a local teahouse.

Meals: Lunch and Dinner Included.

Accommodation: At a local teahouse on a twin sharing basis.

Hillary bridge
• A beautiful suspension bridge decorated with Buddhist prayer flags. A moment after crossing the bridge, you may get the first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Namche Bazar
• The Sherpa Capital is a wonderful settlement at the lap of Khongde mountain. You will be spending an extra night here for the acclimatization.

Accommodation: At a local teahouse on a twin sharing basis.

Everest viewpoint
• The Everest viewpoint is one of the best places in the Everest region to see 360 views of the mountains.
Sherpa museum
• Visit the Sherpa museum at Namche Bazar.

Tengboche Monastery
• The biggest Buddhist monastery in the Everest region. Situated in the top of the hill, the monastery also offers greater views of the Himalayas.

• Hike up to get the greater views plus the higher elevation. Then get back to Dingboche and take the rest.

• Get there for the lunch, then leave your baggage and trek to Everest Base Camp with the essentials only.
