13 days Everest base camp trek is a once in a lifetime trekking in Nepal. The greatest adventure in Everest is famous for its natural and cultural wonders. The exciting Everest base camp trek 13 days offers to collect the stunning views of Himalayas and to explore the typical Sherpa villages of Everest.

The trek to Everest Base Camp starts with a scenic flight to Lukla airport. Lukla airport is regarded as one of the adventurous airports in the world. Located at the elevation 2860 meters above the sea level, Lukla is the gateway of the Everest trekking routes. From Lukla, the trekking to Everest base camp starts and gets to Phakding first wit fours hours trekking. Phakding is a small Sherpa settlement at the lap of the hills.

On the second day of the trekking, you will be hiking to Namche Bazaar. It takes five to six hours walking to get to Namche Bazaar from Phakding. The route to Namche Bazar is mostly uphill via pine, oak and rhododendron forest. On the clear day, you can collect the first glimpse of Mount Everest as well. The third day is for the acclimatization. You can do a two hours side hike to Everest view point of Syanboche. Syanboche is the place with famous Everest view hotel. It is also one of the places to see Mount Everest. Later, you can explore the beautiful Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar.

Further from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, the route includes some flat section and some uphill. Along the way to Tengboche, the great of mountains including Ama Dablam, Thamserku and more can be collected. Tengboche is famous as Everest view point. Whereas, the famous Tengboche monastery is also exist. Similarly, the greater views of sunrise and sunset in the Himalayas can be collected at Tengboche.

Next, on the fifth day of 13 days Everest base camp trek, you will be hiking to Dingboche from Tengboche. The route to Dingboche is mostly uphill. Interestingly, this section may offer you to witness two of the endangered species of Himalayan musk deer and the snow leopard. Dingboche is a small settlement. You may see some people working on the potato fields at Dingboche. Same like Namche Bazaar you will have an extra day for acclimatization at Dingboche. During the acclimatization at Dingboche you can do a side hike to Nagarjun hills which is an hour hike from Dingboche.

On the seventh day, you will be hiking to Lobuche. It takes four to five hours of the hiking to get to Lobuche. Located at the 4910 meters above the sea level, Lobuche as some tea houses and porter houses for the trekkers and the trekking crews. It also offers the greater views of Ama Dablam.

Everest Base Camp Trek and Fly back by Helicopter Here 

Finally, on the day eight, you will be getting to Everest base camp via Gorakshep. Firstly, you will be hiking to Gorakshep where you will be keeping your bags. Then you can take your day pack and the essentials only to Everest base camp as you are coming back to Gorakshep again. The journey to Everest base camp from Gorakshep is two hours of the hiking.  At Everest base camp you will be spending an hour or so to collect the best memories and to enjoy the moment before getting back to Gorakshep.

To begin with a good vibe, you will be hiking to Kalapatthar first on day ninth for the sunrise. Kalapatthar offers the greatest views if Himalayas including Mount Everest. Actually, Kalapatthar offers the better view of Mount Everest than Everest base camp itself. Then after, you will be retracing back to Pheriche for the night.

Next three days (tenth, eleventh and twelfth), you will be taking to get back to Lukla. You will be following the same way back. Finally, you will be flying back to Kathmandu on the thirteenth day to complete 13 days Everest base camp trek.

Day 1
Fly to Lukla (30 minutes) and trek to Phakding (4/5 hours trekking).

Lukla airport

• One of the interesting airports in the world. The flight to Lukla is a wonderful one. Meet your guide/porter and start the trip.

Phakding

• The small village at the lap of the Himalayas. You will stay at a local teahouse.

Meals: Lunch and Dinner Included.

Accommodation: At a local teahouse on a twin sharing basis.

Day 2
Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m./6/7 hours trekking).

Hillary bridge

• A beautiful suspension bridge decorated with Buddhist prayer flags. Moment after crossing the bridge, you may get the first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Namche Bazar

• The Sherpa Capital is a wonderful settlement at the lap of Khongde mountain. You will be spending an extra night here for the acclimatization.

Day 3
Hike to Syanboche (2 hours) for the Everest view then back to Namche Bazar.

Trek to Dingboche (5/6 hours trekking).

Dingboche

• A nice settlement at the lap of the Himalayas.

Hike to Nagarjun Hills (2 hours hike), then back to Dingboche.

Nagarjun Hills

Day 7
Trek to Lobuche (4/5 hours trek).

Monument hill (Chihan Danda)

Day 8
Trek to Gorakshep (4 hours trek), then to Everest Base Camp (2 hours trek) then back to Gorakshep (2 hours trek).

Gorakshep

• Get there for the lunch, then leave your baggage and trek to Everest Base Camp with the essentials only.

Everest Base Camp.

• Get to the base camp, collect the moments and get back to Gorakshep.

Day 9
Trek back to Pheriche (6/7 hours trek).

Retrace back to Pheriche via Lobuche.
